If you live in Canada, as a woman you are lucky enough to be able to be on maternity leave for 52 weeks when you have a baby! You cannot imagine all the projects I had intended to do before Gaby came! My Oh my was I dreaming! Oh I had hope, yes I did! Upon seeing other women Pinterest board titled " Maternity leave projects", I thought i would be DIY'ing, crafting and reupholstering my way through maternity leave this time around!
Yup. its been 24 weeks and anybody on mat leave with an infant and a preschooler to entertain all day at home must be laughing at my naivety! I have a baby that has gas issues all night, a three year old that needs to be entertained all day and has the attention span of a gold fish and oh...did i mention that this baby doesn't sleep anywhere except in my arms!!!!Yes my friends....she is THAT baby.
So i was really happy this week when admist little toes pulling on my vinyl, little hands touching my tools and a fairy princess with shiny shoes trying to find a way to fly higher and higher, I was able to recover this midcentury chair i scored at the thrift store some 8 months ago.
This chair manufactured by the Tobago Company in the 60's was only 5$
and i found some left over vinyl at the fabric store for 2$. I rubbed the wood down with some olive oil and vinegar to take away some of the dings and scuffs and this beautiful chair only cost me 7$!
Now isn't she beautiful!
If only i could find 5 more just like that for my kitchen table!
A girl can dream!
