Anything is better than the before!

We slept in a clean but grosse looking, nightmarish bedroom for months! But within a week, took off peeling paint, skimmed the walls, gave it two coats of primer, painted the doors and gave it two coats of paint as well. It was brutal but necessary!

Here is a reminder of the before: Just the walls you can imagine the rest of the ugliness!!

The after: Even undressed, this room is now so relaxing!

The floors look much better than before with this new color. The bamboo light fixture is from Bazz and is in ligne with our organic inspiration.

Petite coquine! Une vraie petite mauricienne!

Moi, mère de Makayla suis originaire de l'Ïle Maurice. Son Daddy est originaire du Ghana. Le certificat de naissance de Makayla est émis par le Directeur de l'état civil du Québec, elle est donc une petite québécoise et selon son passeport elle est une canadienne. Mais dans son coeur, elle est une mauricienne. Une petite fille d'une petite île où les repas quotidiens sont consitutés de riz. La preuve!

Affamée après une journée passée à s'amuser à la garderie, elle rentre à la maison et hume la bonne odeur de riz blanc fraîchement cuit! Et quand sa mère à le donner tourner, elle pousse gracieusement son escabeau et fait ceci:

Oui, vous avez bien vu. Elle mange du riz directement de l'autocuiseur de riz!!!

Oops! Euhhh!

" Mama, Makay faim!" dit-elle en remettant le couvercle! Vous remarquerez qu'elle a rapidement manger les miettes du comptoire!

Elle a l'amour du riz dans l'âme cette petite mauricienne! Et, moi je l'aime de tout mon coeur!

Miss Bouclette

We have been so wrapped up in renovations that we forgot to stop and smell the roses! Our little girl is growing up and doing so fast...

21 months old

She is a chip off the old block: Always barefoot

Loves to relax on our rustic patio in her everyday wear (her diaper)

And she loves her wheels: She is the neighbourhood baller. The seniors (our neighbours are, except for a few, 75 years old and over) only wish they could get pushed around "Makay style"!

We love our little Makay: Testing limits and our patience is her new hobby. If she wouldn't be doing so we should be worried. She is asserting her independance and developping her will power strongly and we are learning to keep our cool.
